Since its inception in the 1940s, epigenetics has evolved. Despite progress in our understanding through technological advancements, the definition of epigenetics remains elusive. Our challenge to you: what is epigenetics?
This project was designed specifically for the IHEC and CEEHRC 2019 Joint Annual Meeting in Epigenetics. The aim of this exercise is to challenge our conference attendees to answer the seemingly simple question ‘What is Epigenetics?’ and to reflect on the wide variety of responses that this question can elicit. If we as a research community can come to a consensus on the meaning and definition of this word, communicating our science to diverse audiences will become infinitely easier.
